Summer School in Contemporary European History 2020

The Summer School in Contemporary European History, co-organized by PD Dr. Michael Schaich (GHI London) and professor Kiran Klaus Patel (LMU Munich), took place from 15 to 18 September 2020. Titled “Awkward Partners? The United Kingdom and Europe since 1918”, it brought together advanced BA and MA students from LMU Munich and a range of other German universities. As speakers on the historical dimension of the topic, the summer school was taught by professor Heather Jones (University College, London) and professor N. Piers Ludlow (London School of Economics). Moreover, the summer school discussed the ongoing situation and the future relations between the United Kingdom and the European Union with Kishwer Falkner, Baroness Falkner of Margravine (House of Lords).
