Remarque-PHE Scholar Exchange Program - LMU-NYU Research Cooperation Program
The Remarque Institute, New York University (NYU), and Project House Europe (PHE), Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München (LMU), are excited to announce the launch of a scholar exchange program between the two institutions in 2025.
The objective of the exchange is to strengthen cooperation between the two institutions in areas of common interest around the study of Europe, and to establish closer ties between the LMU and NYU Remarque on the study and understanding of modern Europe. The cooperation aims to build, over time, a lasting international partnership and a network of scholars that make an impact on the future of the field of European Studies. Furthermore, it provides participating scholars the opportunity to gain international experiences and better understanding of the academic systems and funding opportunities in the US and Germany respectively.
Between October 2025 and May 2026, the Remarque-PHE Scholar Exchange Program will support one researcher from NYU and LMU respectively for a visiting period of up to 3 months at the partner university. During this period, the visiting scholar will be integrated into the academic life of the host institution.
The Remarque-PHE Scholar Exchange Program is co-directed by Stephanos Geroulanos (NYU) and Kiran Klaus Patel (LMU).
